Most Common Sublimation Problem:
- PINWHEELS ON PRINTED SUBLIMATION TRANSFERS
Pinwheels, also known as roller marks or pizza wheel marks, are dotted lines that can appear on sublimation transfers. These marks are caused by the ink on the paper not drying fast enough, resulting in the wet ink being picked up by the roller and transferred onto the rest of the paper, particularly in the case of full-coverage dark-colour images.
It is important to note that this issue is not caused by the printer itself, but rather is a characteristic of sublimation-coated paper. To address this issue, the following steps can be taken:
- Clean the gears with alcohol using a riband if black dots (pinwheels) are present.
- Use economic paper to avoid this issue. Additionally, using a longer time and higher temperatures will not result in a significant difference in the printing results between premium paper and economic paper, particularly for mug printing.
If you still want to use premium sublimation paper, try reducing the speed and providing more time for the paper to dry before it exits the printer. Additionally, reducing print density can also help improve this issue. check the following picture for the setting.
It should also be noted that pinwheels can be a random issue and may or may not appear from the start.
As such, it is important to choose your printer carefully as this issue cannot be used as a reason for a refund.

Term and Conditions
The sublimation printer is an Epson inkjet printer that has been modified to use special sublimation inks. As this printer is intended for home use, it is not suitable for heavy-duty printing, such as printing 100 pages per day. The lifetime of the printer may be reduced and it does not come with a 12-month warranty for this purpose. Additionally, the printer is a non-refundable product, and we cannot process a refund once the ink has been filled. Therefore, it is important to choose the printer carefully and ensure that you are comfortable with these conditions before making a purchase.
—————————————————————————————————–
It is worth noting that this is the most economical way for sublimation printing and the printer itself only costs around $300. Some customers use this type of printer for starting and then upgrade to a commercial one later, while others use it for commercial heavy-duty printing and change the printer regularly. Even with the cost of regularly replacing the printer, it is still cheaper than purchasing a commercial sublimation printer, which can cost over $1000. However, it is important to consider that using this cheaper version printer for heavy printing and then having to replace it frequently, may not be cost-effective in the long run.
—————————————————————————————————–
Despite the initial savings of more than $500 or even $1000. Ultimately, it is important to weigh the potential costs of having to replace the printer frequently against the cost of purchasing a more suitable, commercial-grade printer. The decision of which printer to use should be based on the specific needs and requirements of the intended usage.

Warranty:
In terms of warranty, as the printer has been converted for sublimation use, it does not come with a warranty from Epson. However, we may offer a mechanical warranty, but it will not cover issues such as printer head blocking, and Pinwheels roller mark issues. To maintain the longevity of the printer, it is recommended to use it regularly, such as printing a couple of pages each week, and avoid direct sunlight on the printer as it can dry the ink and cause damage to the printer head.
